Miami holds a close relationship with water: the ocean, beaches, navigation channels, creeks, bridges, pollution, toxic waste, and awareness of living on our blue planet, water as a spiritual purifier, and climate change.

Few other cities in the world have as much to lose from rising sea levels as Miami, and the alarm bells sound ever louder with each successive “king tide” that overwhelms coastal defenses and sends knee-deep seawater crossing through downtown streets.

Therefore, we will encourage proposals that work on collaborative mappings that integrate water connections, water preservation, the memory of the city, critical water cartography and cultural heritage.
