Carolina Boettner

Visual artist born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1980.
After graduating at the University of Buenos Aires (FADU, UBA) as a filmmaker, she received a DAAD scholarship to continue her studies at the Academy of art Städelschule, Frankfurt am main German; receiving in 2010 the Meisterschulerin by the video artist Mark Lecky.
In the year 2009 she was part of the residence of high studies in the International school of cinema of San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba.
In 2016 her Art Piece Symphony 24 was awarded with the First prize: Visual arts at the Funka Fest in Guayaquil, Ecuador. The same year two of her videos (El Ritmo de las Ciudades: fez and El hacedor del Tiempo) are chosen to be part at the Videoart Festival nodoCCS 2016 in Caracas, and at Paraflows the Festival for digital art in Vienna. As an artist she has participated in different individual and group exhibitions in different countries of Europe and South America. She currently lives and works between Buenos Aires, Argentina; and Berlin, Germany.

Project Title: Apocalyptic

Proposal Summary: A plague invades the world. This forces the inhabitants to emigrate to somewhere. The plague affects the vision of the people leaving them blind.
The world is “des- construction, and a new one must be created in some other space.
